After using a Hons-1201 for 1 year I finally felt it was time to upgrade to a better machine. At first I was afraid to use this machine because I knew that there was no speed control dial but that I could only use my foot pedal to control the speed. After practicing how to control the speed, with the foot pedal, I felt more confident and comfortable to use the machine. I'm enjoying being able to choose stitch length and width, the automatic needle threading, being able to use my walking foot, the beautiful decorative stitches and the great speed of this machine. Sewing is so much smoother now and the stitches look more beautiful because I can choose it's length and width. I've sewed stretchy jersey fabric on this machine, while using my walking foot and a ballpoint needle, and the sewing has been smooth. I don't often worry about the tension and pushing or pulling the fabric because the walking foot and this machine make it effortless. I also bought the extension table to make sewing easier. I think that people should first practice using their machine before trying to sew anything. Also, YouTube is full of videos of people showing you how to use this machine, so watch those videos and practice, practice, practice; so that you can be comfortable with this powerful machine.
